Celebrating our staff

At the staff recognition awards on Monday 25 September we celebrated how every day our colleagues across the trust have an amazing effect on people’s lives. Staff and trust members joined together for the glittering ceremony, which took place after the annual members’ meeting at Kia Oval in Kennington.

During the ceremony we heard from patients, carers and colleagues who had nominated people for the awards. There were many uplifting stories about the incredible impact that our staff make. You can read about them here.

With more than 160 nominations received across seven award categories, the judging panels had tough decisions to make. The panels were made up of a wide-cross section of trust staff, along with a carer and service users.

Chief Executive Dr Matthew Patrick commented: "The staff recognition awards event was a fantastic celebration. It was very moving to hear from patients and carers about how our staff have made such a difference. I am so proud of what our dedicated staff achieve".

Angela Brassett-Harknett, psychotherapist at the Eating Disorders Outpatient Service, won the award for Transforming lives after being nominated by two of her patients: ‘“I’m incredibly excited about this award. To be part of this event is such a privilege, it’s just such a wonderful day. We work so hard but what I get in return emotionally – you just can’t put a price on that. I enjoy seeing people change. I get to see people become better eaters and better body image accepters.”

Winners received a crystal award, a framed certificate and a £500 voucher to spend with their team provided by the award sponsors. Shortlisted individuals and teams were also presented with a certificate. All those nominated for an award will receive a certificate in the internal post.
