Dr Robert Harland appointed as Interim Clinical Director for Psychosis

Congratulations to Dr Robert Harland who will start work as Interim Clinical Director for Psychosis on Monday, 30 October. Dr Harland is currently a consultant psychiatrist for AL3 Ward and will continue in that role on a part-time basis.

Dr Harland trained at the Maudsley from 2001 and has been a consultant since 2008. He worked in Lambeth recovery teams for five years and for the last five years has worked on Southwark inpatient female and male wards.

He is a member of the British Psychoanalytic Society and a trustee of the Maudsley Philosophy Group Charitable Trust.

He also teaches on philosophy and ethics in psychiatry and is interested in developing sustainable, humane and safe services for those suffering from mental illness.

Dr Harland said: “I am really looking forward to working with old and new colleagues again in the psychosis CAG, and aiming to support them in being able to deliver the best care to those who use our services.”
